In 1858 he came to Puget Sound, landing at Port Townsend. Before leaving Australia he married Miss Elizabeth M'Crohan, whom he had known from childhood, and who survives him. The same year of their arrival from Australia they settled on land near Oak Harbor, and with the exception of five years spent in Seattle were residents of this county from that time. In 1880 deceased moved to Seattle, and in partnership with J. F. T. Being somewhat broken in health from the effects of a severe attack of typhoid fever, from which he never fully recovered, he returned to Whidby Island, where the remainder of his days were passed. 'Thomas Nunan was born in Limerick, Ireland, Nov. 17, 1839.
