He was a dairy farmer at Charcoal and was connected with the elite of dairy cattle breeding as his executors were Dr Kenneth McKenzie (a noted cattle breeder) and Edward Jekyll. He was a convict who arrived in 1833. He had been married before with 3 male and 3 female children back in Ireland.
